How to combat polarization and extremism? Network members discussed with Mari Kiviniemi
How has social media changed political culture? Is there a cure for low public trust in political institutions? And what is Europe's role in today's growing multipolarism as well as the weakening of EU-US relations?
Members discussed these and other questions at the January meeting of the Women's Network with former Finnish Prime Minister and former Deputy Secretary-General of the OECD Mari Kiviniemi.
Among other things, we talked about the key role of employers and local politicians in strengthening public trust in political institutions. In addition, we also discussed the changing political culture in Finland and the impact of growing security risks on these changes. We also discussed declining optimism within society and its possible causes and solutions.
The meeting was held in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Finland in Prague.
