What is the future of the Women, Peace and Security agenda? We discussed this with Ana María Alonso Giganto and Martin Pizinger

How does the approach to the Women, Peace and Security agenda differ in Czechia and Spain? How can we ensure that the agenda's goals are meaningfully fulfilled? And how can we protect the agenda from unfavorable political developments?

We discussed these and other questions with Ana María Alonso Giganto, Spain's Ambassador-at-Large for Feminist Foreign Policy, and Martin Pizinger, Director of the Department of UN and Global Issues at the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Among other things, we talked about how this seemingly foreign policy agenda intersects with domestic politics (e.g., through the issue of refugees). We also discussed mechanisms for involving civil society in the implementation of the agenda and the importance of its role in fieldwork, as well as informing the government and holding it accountable in the implementation of the agenda.

The event was held in cooperation with the Embassy of Spain in Prague.
